    Your agreement is with Hideaway Stays and its owners. References to "we", "us" and "our" refer to Hideaway Stays. References to "you" refer to the person making the booking and all members of your party.

    Bookings & Payments

    All prices are as displayed at the time of booking via our online booking system.

    For bookings made more than 5 days before arrival, a 30% booking deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining 70% balance is due 5 days before arrival. We will email you a secure payment request for the deposit after you submit your booking, and a further request for the balance when it becomes due.

    For bookings made 5 days or less before arrival, full payment is required. We will email you a secure payment request for the full booking amount after you submit your booking.

    Your booking is confirmed once the required deposit or full payment has been received and a confirmation email has been issued.

    Arrival & Departure

    Check-in is from 4:00pm onwards.

    Check-out is by 10:00am on the day of departure.

    Where possible, we may accommodate early arrival or late departure requests, but this cannot be guaranteed.

    During Your Stay

    We welcome well-behaved dogs. Please ensure:

    • Dogs are kept under control at all times
    • All waste is cleaned up promptly

    Unless agreed in advance, the following are not permitted:

    • Drones or radio-controlled devices
    • Decorative outdoor lighting installations

    We reserve the right to refuse entry or terminate a stay if behaviour is considered disruptive, unsafe, or detrimental to the property or other guests.

    Problems During Your Stay, Complaints & Compensation

    We take pride in preparing Chyvounder to a high standard and want guests to enjoy their stay. If you believe there is a genuine problem with the accommodation, facilities or cleanliness, you must notify Hideaway Stays as soon as reasonably possible after discovering it and, wherever possible, during your stay.

    Opportunity to investigate and resolve a problem

    Guests must give Hideaway Stays a reasonable opportunity to investigate any reported issue and, where appropriate, put it right.

    This may include allowing us, our housekeeper, maintenance contractor or another authorised person reasonable access to the property.

    Where a problem could reasonably have been reported and addressed during the stay, but was not brought to our attention until after departure, this may affect our ability to investigate the matter and any remedy that may otherwise have been appropriate.

    Minor issues and reasonable expectations

    Chyvounder is a holiday property and, despite careful preparation and maintenance, minor imperfections or occasional issues may occur.

    Minor cosmetic imperfections, normal wear and tear, personal preferences, isolated housekeeping matters or other issues which do not materially affect the reasonable use and enjoyment of the accommodation will not normally give rise to a refund, price reduction or compensation.

    Where a minor issue is reported, our priority will normally be to investigate it and, where reasonably possible, correct it promptly.

    Evidence and investigation

    We may reasonably ask guests to provide photographs, video or other information relating to a complaint.

    We may also inspect the accommodation and review relevant housekeeping, maintenance, property or other records when investigating a complaint.

    Any information or evidence provided in support of a complaint must be accurate and must fairly represent the condition or circumstances being reported.

    Refunds, discounts and compensation

    The making of a complaint does not automatically entitle a guest to a refund, discount, price reduction or compensation.

    Hideaway Stays does not operate an automatic compensation policy.

    Any goodwill refund, credit, discount or payment offered by Hideaway Stays is entirely at our discretion and does not constitute an admission of liability.

    Nothing in these Booking Terms excludes or restricts any statutory rights or remedies which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

    Complaints made after departure

    Guests should not wait until after their stay to report a problem that could reasonably have been brought to our attention while they were at Chyvounder.

    Complaints first raised after departure will be considered on their individual circumstances, but our ability to investigate or verify an issue may be limited where we were not given a reasonable opportunity to inspect or resolve it during the stay.

    Choosing to Leave Early

    If a guest chooses to leave Chyvounder before the booked departure date for reasons which are not the result of a breach of our legal obligations, no refund will normally be payable for unused nights.

    Guests should refer any resulting loss to their travel insurer where appropriate.

    Where a guest believes a problem with the accommodation is serious enough to affect their continued stay, they should contact Hideaway Stays promptly and give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, resolve the matter before deciding to leave.

    Nothing in this section affects statutory rights which cannot lawfully be excluded.

    Liability

    We cannot accept responsibility for:

    • Loss or damage to personal belongings or vehicles
    • Injury to guests or visitors during their stay

    Guests are responsible for taking reasonable care during their visit.

    Cancellation Policy

    We strongly recommend that guests take out appropriate travel insurance.

    By making a booking, you agree to the following cancellation terms:

    • More than 3 days before arrival: Full refund
    • Less than 3 days before arrival: Refund minus one night stay (to cover administration and transaction costs)
    • On or after the arrival date: No refund

    No refunds or credits will be issued for unused nights or early departures.

    Electric Vehicle Charging

    Electric vehicles must only be charged using an approved external EV charging point.

    Charging via the property's mains sockets (indoor or outdoor) is strictly prohibited.

    Any unauthorised charging may result in:

    • A £150 call-out fee
    • Full cost of any damage or required repairs

    Travel & Holiday Insurance

    Guests are strongly advised to arrange appropriate travel or holiday insurance from the time of booking.

    Suitable insurance should be considered for circumstances including:

    • cancellation;
    • illness or accident;
    • travel disruption;
    • curtailment of a stay;
    • personal belongings;
    • other unforeseen events which may prevent or affect the stay.

    Hideaway Stays is not an insurer and cannot accept responsibility for losses or circumstances which are outside our legal responsibility and which could reasonably be covered by suitable travel insurance.

    Failure to obtain appropriate insurance does not transfer responsibility for an uninsured loss to Hideaway Stays.

    Statutory Rights

    Nothing in these Booking Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or override rights available to consumers under applicable UK law.
