Perranuthnoe
Perranuthnoe is Chyvounder's immediate village. It's a quiet, settled corner of the West Cornwall coast rather than a busy resort, which is exactly why it suits a stay focused on switching off.
From Chyvounder you can walk into the village in around five minutes — to places to eat, to a useful beach café, and on down towards the beach. The short walk makes it easy to pop out for a coffee or a meal without needing to drive.
Perranuthnoe Beach
Perranuthnoe Beach is a sandy, south-facing beach around an 8–10 minute walk from Chyvounder. It's a genuinely easy beach to reach on foot for a morning stroll or an evening paddle.
The amount of exposed sand changes significantly with the tide. Low tide is particularly good for a longer beach visit and exploring, while at high tide the available sandy area becomes considerably smaller.
The beach area also gives access to the coastal walking route and the South West Coast Path.

Walking and the coast
From Chyvounder you can reach the South West Coast Path in around 10 minutes on foot, via the beach area. For guests who enjoy coastal walking, it's a genuinely useful feature — you can head out along the surrounding coastline without packing the car.
The coast here is quietly dramatic rather than crowded, with stretches of path looking out across Mount's Bay towards St Michael's Mount. It's well suited to a slow, unhurried walk before returning to Chyvounder for the evening.
Marazion and St Michael's Mount
Marazion is around a 5-minute drive from Chyvounder, and St Michael's Mount around 10 minutes by car. Marazion Beach provides views towards the mount, which rises just offshore.
Access to St Michael's Mount depends on the tides. The historic causeway can be used when conditions permit, with boats operating at other times and seasons. A nearby alternative — The Packet Inn
A little further afield, The Packet Inn in nearby Rosudgeon is another option worth knowing about. It's around 3 minutes by car — about 1.2 miles — from Chyvounder.
A historic coaching inn, it's a relaxed pub and restaurant with a seasonal, local food focus, and it's dog-friendly. It's particularly known locally for Sunday lunch, so booking ahead is advisable.
